Only chance for a future victory. by RedAmerican1945 Only chance for a future victory. by RedAmerican1945
Now even though this election has severely destroyed my faith in this "System" I still have a soft spot for bernie. The man cheated out of the presidency for an old unlikeable hag.

If the democrats wanna have any chance of winning in 2020 it's not gonna be with Tim Kaine, no it's gonna be with Bernie. And yes In know he will be old, 79 in fact. But age dosent denny a persons qualifications, especially with Bernie. It's almost stupid to denny the fact he would have won  against trump, and this is why we need him in 2020.

And also to the DNC, it's time to re organize and kick all those that gave trump the election OUT! They've over stayed their welcome.

Lets only hope this is a reality in 4 years. Bernie himself hasn't denied the idea running again.

He's pretty hardy. I doubt that he wouldn't want to fight the Trumpocalypse one more time. Long live the Bern.

I feel for you here, but it won't happen for Sanders or a similar President again until the Democrat Party is purged. Obama got in because he played the Race Card and made the party eat its own rhetoric. So they gave him lukewarm support and let him take the hits, praising him in public while letting the Republicans hold the Congress. Then in 2016 the Hildabeast called in all her favors and bought the nomination, ideology and patriotism and an actual platform be damned. The career politicos who pretend to love and respect the Little People while taking contribution$ to keep the $tatu$ quo in place and shrug off the United States' decline so long as they get to rule over it have to go.

Yeah, they were called everything from basement dwellers to Bernie bros.

Clinton and her base clearly have some sort of contempt towards millennials.

Miss typed. It's clear at this point if Bernie were the nominee he would have wiped the floor with Trump.

No big scandals.
He had appeal to the worker.
He supported ideas many americans like.
He was more of an outsider then trump even though he's been in politics 30 years.
More qualified.
Has an approval rating in his state o0f Vermont of 88%. Making him the most well rated senator right now and in history.
The longest serving independent.
and so on and so on.

Trump'll just buy him stuff to go away like Clinton did.  A fourth house, some private jet time.  It surprised and saddened me to see how cheaply Bernie could be bought.  I never thought he'd make a good president, but I thought him honest and sincere.

He might be the better among the american politicians, but he never seemd to attempt mobilizing people to put his thoughs into practice; once it was decided that Hillary was the candidate representing the Democrats, he said nothing about Hillary's hideous imperialsit crimes, and didn't even mobilized himself against the Hillarites who made false accusations on him(there was even a feminist payd to accuse Sanders of doing things he didn't). He puts himself at the complete mercy of the "stablishment" without any resistance, I don't think he will ever be successfully elected as long as he doesn't capitulate completely to the bourgeoi agenda.

The only reason why Bernie didn't win was because of how well known Hillary was, Tim Kaine on the other hand, no one knows who the fuck he is. I don't even know who he is, which means Bernie would have an easier time against him than Hillary.

The "government left" ( for want of a better term ) has been showing how deeply flawed it was recently, hasn't it ? Along with those elections, you have Hollande's poor record in France that leaves a real chance for an extreme-right victory at the next presidential elections and the Spanish socialists whose leaders chose rather to align with corrupt conservative Rajoy rather than Podemos.

It's obvious the only chance for the Left is to stop trying to be a nicer Right ( Jerry Corbin in the UK has understood this, but most of the Labour establishment still hasn't )

That said, the shock of Trump's election may well cause a move in that direction in the US. So that in 2020 there could be a really left-wing candidate with ( let's hope ) comparable ability and younger. Because let's face it at 75 his abilities will probably have dimmed and he'll be vulnerable in the campaign.

The electoral college favors rural majority white states. So the 'left' has to infiltrate and win some of those those states.

Ah, I didn't know that. Thnks.

I would think it's possible, assuming Trump electors' disappointment with his policies failing to make America great again, whatever they mean by it ( as in, they wouldn't care to vote ) ?

Or do you think those states were not so much won by Trump as lost by Clinton ? I remember reading something to that effect although I can't point it right now…
If so, regaining them would prove easier.

PA and Florida were lost by Clinton
That was the deciding factor

Nope, no matter how much Trump's voters might become they'll still go with whatever white trash vote they can next election.
The only certain thing in American politics is the white trash vote, they always show up. They're unified in hate and anger.

The problem with the electorate is they never learn
That's why we have a corrupt Congress and a shit world.

No es una abstención, es una traición. (It is not an abstention, it is a treason)

This what the people said in the demonstration of the last students' strike in my city. A sector of the Socialist Party and the rest of the left disagrees on what the party has done letting the right govern one more legislature. The People's Party of Rajoy is involved in many corruption cases, it is destroying the Welfare state cutting on Education and Healthcare, it has created a new Education Law which gives more importance to the religion, gives more power to the Directors of the schools and the highschools reducing the importance of the school councils, and decides wether a student can approve a whole course based in a single exam. A government that is going to change this year from the scheme of 4 years of Grade and 1 of Master to 3 of Grade and 2 of Master (called 3+2) knowing that the universitary fees are much higher for the Master, thus making the system more elitist and forcing the working class to have a lower level. A goverment that has created an oppresive law called Law of Public Safety and commonly known as the 'Gag Law', which has been condemned by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. A goverment that denies the existence of the financial rescue received by the EU which has been used to rescue banks. A government that has cheapened the dismissal while at the same time claims the reduction of employment ignoring that the jobs are very poorly paid and the most are temporary jobs based on turism, with the main unions allowing this to happen.
And this in a country that has secessionist region, a high percentage of the population near to poverty, a population that still votes this group of corrupt liars and believes what the media want them to believe.

The worst thing is that the system is corrupt everywhere, and, :iconredamerican1945:, if you still had faith in the system it is because you didn't realize about the extension of its tentacles. In Spain and Greece the most of the left has realized a long time ago.

Sad dummy
